Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County is launching its goal to match 100 Littles Brothers in 2026, joining the California Men’s Service Challenge - a statewide effort, in partnership with the Governor's Office, to inspire 10,000 men to become mentors

2. Enrollment & Training
Once your application is completed...
1. Screening – Follow-up & safety check.
2. Background – $40 for fingerprinting, DMV & background checks.
3. Interview – One-on-one with a case manager.
4. Training – Group session on youth safety and social issues.
5. Prep – 7 hours individual training before being matched.
3. Meet Your Little
Once you are approved to start, we’ll introduce you to your Little/Mentee!
You can schedule meetups for 2-4 times a month for a few hours.
Check-in regularly with your Match Support Specialist.
As a Mentor, you are walking alongside a young person in their journey and helping to model positive, healthy behaviors that make a big difference!

Superhero Pose Challenge - Post a video or photo of yourself doing a "superhero pose" with the hashtags #BBSVC #BeAHero and tag @BBSVC.
Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
Never have been convicted of a felony; not be using any illegal drugs.
Have a safe driving record and current auto insurance.
1. Complete all youth safety trainings.
2. Commit to the program for a year minimum (3-4 times per month, each outing lasting 2-4 hours).
3. Abide by all program rules.
4. On going open communication with their little and family in between visits, and our program staff.
1. Be at least 21 years old.
2. Have a valid driver's license and current car insurance.
3. Does not use any illegal drugs currently, or within the last twelve months.
4. Never have been convicted of a felony.
5. Have a safe driving record. (no DUI’s on record and no more than 2 moving violations in the past year).
We always encourage low to no cost types of activities...
1. Walking and a picnic in a park
2. Visiting the beach
3. Going hiking
4. Eating and talking
5. Watching a movie
6. Playing board and card games
7. Coloring, painting, and arts and crafts
8. Sports you both enjoy
9. Reading and discussing a book
10. Baking and cooking
11. Attending local community events
Because not all heroes wear capes - some simply show up.
